EMDR Intensives

Offered Online and Telehealth

EMDR Intensives
Why Take Months, When It Can Take Weeks

EMDR Intensives usually involves 3 to 4 hour long sessions. They can be conducted on back to back days or several times during the same week. Rather than having to work on a weekly basis for an extended period of time, you can often work through many issues (depending on how it is impacting you) intensively and move forward with your life more quickly.

These services are called an intensive for a reason and they are not appropriate for everyone. The work is INTENSE, but so is the healing!  A thorough assessment of a potential client’s readiness for intensive work is provided in an hour long intake session via telehealth.

If you are interested in exploring the idea of an Intensive, please contact me to schedule an intake session and I can help you decide if an Intensive is right for you.

In some cases, Intensives can be utilized in conjunction with your weekly work with another therapist. After an Intensive experience, you may choose to return to the care of your weekly therapist.

If you currently have a therapist, please feel free to discuss this option with them and I am happy to discuss collaborative work.

If you are an existing client of mine, we can explore the use Intensives to address specific issues in addition to overall functioning.

Benefits of EMDR Intensives

  • Healing Can Happen in Weeks, Not Months

Real and life changing healing can occur in a matter of days rather than months or years. The work is much more efficient and in the end requires less session time and less cost overall.  Rather than opening up and closing traumatic and upsetting events every week, we only have to open things up once. More session time is spent processing and healing.

  • It is Cost Effective

While initially, the cost may seem prohibitive, in the long run, Intensives are more cost effective because the therapy is concentrated and highly focused.

  • Weekly appointments are reduced

Rather than having a weekly therapy appointment that can occur for 6 months to 2 years, you can start living a happier life in weeks. You can still engage in  and enjoy weekly sessions, but you don't have to worry about living with the trauma you have carried for years. An Intensive can be that emotional reset you’ve been looking for.
