Insurance and payment
Do you take insurance?
No. I'm private pay, so your care isn't shaped by an insurance company's rules about diagnosis, session length or format.
Can I get reimbursed?
Possibly. I provide a monthly superbill for out-of-network claims. A two-hour session is usually reimbursed as one session, not two. Call your plan and ask: “What is my out-of-network mental health benefit, and what is my deductible?”
How do I pay?
Credit card, HSA/FSA card, Venmo or Zelle. Cards on file are charged the day before your session. Intensive deposits (50%, non-refundable) are due 72 hours ahead.
What if I need to cancel?
Please give 24 hours' notice. Cancellations with less notice and no-shows are charged the full fee. Life with kids and perimenopause is unpredictable, and I apply this with common sense.
No Surprises Act & Good Faith Estimates
Under the law, health care providers need to give clients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. This not a guaranteed amount and will change if there are fee increases or the frequency of sessions changes.
You can request a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) at any time, which we base on our expected sessions costs if you met with us for 45 sessions during a calendar year.
A copy is generated for all new clients and placed in their file, regardless of whether or not they request it. For example, if I saw you 50 minutes a week for 45 sessions, you would expect to pay $9,000. You could dispute any overcharges by filing a report, as explained on our GFE.
For more questions please contact me. Please note that fee increases occur, therefore the amount will change.
Clients can also request, or we may recommend, longer sessions or more than weekly sessions. There may also be crises that require us to meet with you more than we’d expect. These will impact your total.
